Be careful when working outside. The warmer weather and emergence of cicadas has led to increased copperhead activity. A few of our neighbors have reported seeing them out already. They are easily confused with non-venomous snakes such as the northern water snake. The copperhead has the distinctive triangular head, cat-like eyes, and the lighter-colored bands on it’s body are wider than the darker ones. If unsure, just steer clear of any snakes you find.
